Pantone Color of the Year 2020 * Home & Design

I love that the Pantone color of the year for 2020 is Classic Blue. What this means for you is that you will be seeing blue all over this year from shoes to dress to pillows to paint colors. There have been some years that I wondered what they were thinking in their color of the year choice but Classic Blue is just that a classic that never goes out of style and I am all about a classic! It’s such a beautiful versatile color that can be applied throughout the house.

Adding Classic Blue to Your Home

I’m currently renting a little 1940’s brick cottage. I was lucky enough to have a landlord that has let me paint it to reflect more of its cottage bones. Last year after seeing this post of classic blue wall color in my friend Michael of Inspired by Charm’s front entry - center photo above - I decided to paint the upper half of the walls in my kitchen blue. Much like Micheal's entry the lower half of my walls are white along with white cabinets. I absolutely LOVE IT! Every day I walk into my kitchen it makes me happy. It’s like I’m in a cozy kitchen that surrounds you in a warm hug.

Classic Blue Color Palettes for Inspiration

One thing I love about Classic Blue is that it’s pretty much a neutral color that can be paired with almost any other color. You can use it as a great base color is your color palette when designing and decorating a room, choosing your wedding colors or even applying make-up!

Color Evokes Emotions & Classic Blue is a Great One!

Blue is the most loved color of all time by both women and men and it’s no wonder why. Blue is the color of trust. It’s the color of calm. It evokes the emotions of tranquility, security, and order. Like I mentioned above that beautiful blue in my kitchen feels like a warm hug even though it’s not a “warm” color on the color wheel. If there is a place in your home you want to add some calm and order add a touch of Classic Blue.
