Most of us have been there. You’re in the middle of cooking something and one of your measuring cups, spoons or containers is missing. Here is a quick and simple measuring conversion chart to help you in a pinch.

EASILY CONVERT MEASUREMENTS FOR YOUR RECIPE INGREDIENTS

1 Gallon = 4 quarts = 8 pints = 8 pints = 16 cups = 28 ounces = 3.8 liters

1 Quart = 1 pint = 4 cups = 32 ounces = .95 liters

1 Pint = 2 cups = 16 ounces = 480 mil

  • 1 tablespoon = 3 teaspoons = 15 mil

  • 4 tablespoons = 1/4 cup = 60 mil

  • 1 ounce = 2 tablespoons = 30 mil

  • 1 cup = 8 oz. = 250 mil

  • 1 pint = 2 cups = 500 mil

  • 1 quart = 4 cups = 950 mil

  • 1 quart = 2 pints = 950 mil

  • 1 gallon = 4 quarts = 3800 mil = 3.8 liters

Liquid Measurements:

15 ml = 1/2 fl oz

30 ml = 1 fl oz

59 ml = 2 fl oz

118 ml = 4 fl oz

237 ml = 8 fl oz

473 ml = 16 fl oz

946 ml = 32 fl oz

TIPS FOR MEASURING LIQUIDS

When measuring liquids such as milk, oils and water be sure to use a measuring cup intended for liquids. Place the measuring cup on a flat surface then measure your liquid.

When measuring small amounts of liquids such as vanilla extract be sure to fill your measuring spoon to the rim.
