Do You Know Which Low Carb Foods To Have on Hand for Hurricane Season?

I'm in a low carb keto diet group on Facebook and one of the group members asked if anyone had a list of low carb keto diet approved foods for prepping for the coming hurricane.  They expect to be days without electricity and want to stay on their low carb keto diet/way of eating even in the face of a major disaster situation.

I sat down and started jotting down a list of foods I know would keep for than a day without refrigeration which is hard on a keto diet because most of the foods we eat are fresh meats, cheeses, vegetables, and berries.  Here is the list I came up with for now. If you have any more to add please comment with your additional low carb keto friendly food storage items for things like this scary hurricane heading to the US.

Fresh Foods:

  • Avocados until they are too ripe
  • Fresh Berries 48 hours
  • Lemons about a week or so
  • Limes about a week or so
  • Fresh Peppers 48 hours
  • Fresh Tomatoes about a week or so
  • Boiled Eggs 48 hours
